About Tabitha Moffatt Brown-David Hill Chapter, NSDAR

The Tabitha Moffatt Brown-David Hill Chapter, NSDAR, is a Washington County, Oregon, chapter of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (NSDAR or DAR). The DAR is a not-for-profit, apolitical women’s organization. Based in Aloha, Oregon, our chapter supports the National Society’s missions of preserving American history, securing America’s future through better education, and promoting patriotism at the local level.

Our chapter meets one weekday of the month at lunchtime. For women who are working or are caregivers and cannot attend in person, we also offer a hybrid meeting option so that you can still join us from your desk.

Membership in the National Society, and our chapter, is open to any adult woman who can show proof that she is a lineal descendant of a Patriot of the American Revolutionary War. The DAR does not discriminate based on race, religion, or ethnic background.

What We Do

A white two-story historic home on a sunny day.
PRESERVE HISTORY

We support Oregon museums and DAR properties, lead an annual cleanup of our local historic cemeteries, and assist in genealogical research and preservation.

Beaverton City Library is home to this historic school bell.
EDUCATE

We give recognition to outstanding American history teachers in Washington County, support Chemawa Indian School, and support opportunities for children to learn and share about American history.

HONOR OUR COUNTRY
HONOR OUR COUNTRY

We hold a community valentine-making party to benefit our troops and veterans, hand out American flags at farmers’ markets, and welcome our newest Americans in citizenship ceremonies.

In Her Words

“I love the warmth and genuine friendships I’ve found among my fellow Daughters and sharing the tree-climbing addiction.”

“I loved finding our family story because of the detective work, and it makes them come alive. For me, one thing I love about being in DAR is patriotism and historic preservation, especially of the smaller places that would not receive national funding.”
